  • Put the mince in a bowl. Peel and roughly chop the onion and carrot, then grate them in the food processor. Mix them into the minced beef with the dried herbs.
  • Snip the chives into the mince mixture, using a pair of scissors. Add the Worcestershire sauce, then season. Mix again, then shape into 4 burgers.
  • Heat a char-grill pan or the grill. Spray the burgers with calorie-controlled cooking spray, then cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, until cooked.
  • Meanwhile, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast the cut sides. Shred the lettuce and place on the base of each bun, then top with the burgers. Slice the tomatoes and gherkins and arrange on top, finishing with the bun lids. Serve at once.
